Recognizing the breast cancer results in death for African-American women at nearly double the rate of white women, Alpha Kappa Alpha members will observe Breast Cancer Awareness Day during nationally-recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast Cancer Awareness Day aims to raise awareness about the disease and raise funds for research into causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure.
