Community Program Descriptions:

HBCU for Life: A Call to Action:

OZO hosts a free Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs)  Informational Workshop and Panel Discussions for middle, high school students and their parents/guardians focusing on the importance and unparalleled opportunities for students who attend HBCUs.

Signature Program: #CAP:

OZO hosts free, monthly step-by-step College Admissions Process (#CAP) workshops for high school students focused solely on closing the gap that many African American youth face getting into college and navigating the application and enrollment process.

Women’s Healthcare & Wellness:

Breast cancer,  heart health and nutrition are among the focus areas OZO directly addresses by engaging in community outreach and educational activities to raise awareness of these critical health issues disproportionately impacting African American women.

Building Your Economic Legacy:

OZO hosts free financial literacy workshops to address the gap that African Americans face in asset accumulation, debt management and savings due to lack of engagement in purposeful financial management. This community program also focuses on directly promoting Black-owned businesses and raises awareness of homelessness by amplifying this widespread issue via Operation AKA Assist where OZO directly provides food, clothing and support to this marginalized population.

The Arts:

Given the diminishing opportunities for youth to be exposed to the arts curricula and African American historical contributions, OZO focuses on community wide awareness building of visual and performing arts during the Harlem Renaissance and Black Arts movement and their influence on contemporary culture.

Global Impact:

Recognizing the positive impact of  global service on society, OZO participates in community service projects that reach across regions and borders by making little dresses and shirts for school children in Haiti and partnering with Soles4Souls to collect gently used shoes and the Lions Club donating eye-glasses to those in need across the globe.

Scholarships:

Our scholarships will go to students of essential workers or those aspiring to be essential workers themselves and students who will attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
